So our local library has a mother goose storytime for 0-18 month olds. I decided to pack up the boys and take them...by myself! So of couse I show up right as the class is starting and there are about 10 other mothers there with their singleton babies. I felt all eyes on me as I rolled in the room with my boys in their SBS stroller. They all stared me down while singing some "hello" song while I laid out a blanket, unbuckled them from their stroller, laid them on the blanket one by one and then picked them up and put them in my lap one by one.
Then I looked around the room and even saw one lady with her mouth wide open watching me! HAHA! Dumbfounded, I guess! Another lady smiled the biggest smile at me and after the class came straight up to me and come to find out she lives on the same street as us and remembers the stork and double baby bundles in our front yard!
The boys really enjoyed it and just stared around at everyone and everything the whole 20 minutes. Not one whimper, tear, nothing! I was so proud - honestly, I felt like SUPER MOM!! It was fabulous!!
Re: Took twins to library storytime...
Sorry the other moms were a bit rude.
My sister works at a library and she does story time. She has twins girls that come to listen to her read all of the time and they are her favorite kids in the class. Don't worry -- the twin thing will wear off for the other moms and you'll just be part of the group in no time at all.
I'm so glad your boys enjoyed it and were on good behavior.
Fantastic! Good for you and I'm glad the boys liked it!
I tried to get the girls to storytime a couple weeks ago, but it just wasn't in the cards for us to be out of the house by 10:30. I want to try to go again soon. Maybe when our current set of books are due.
Baby #3 due September 12, 2014!
