  TTC Child #1 Sept '08, Dx: Unexplained, DOR 2 IUI's = BFN, m/c, IVF 1 = 0 embies to put back, IVF 2 = BFN, IVF 3 = cancelled, IVF 4 = BFP with 1 embie. Our son came into our life on 9/28/11. We are in love!

  Yup, I've had this done. I had to have a colonoscopy when I was 24 b/c my aunt passed away at 40 from colon cancer so they wanted to screen me early. I was also having bad acid reflux at the time so they did both procedures at the same time and yes, I'm REALLY hoping they used two different tubes (I'm sure they did). But honestly, I had NO s/e afterwards...the worst part was the IV needle (this was before I became accustomed to needles every other week like I am now). I'm so sorry you've not been well lately. I hope this procedure will put you on the mend. Good luck!

  First, I'm so sorry you have to go throug this..... any of it!

  I've had several endoscopies before. My last one was several years ago but from what I remember, they really arent that bad. Your throat will hurt when you wake up, but I can't remember feeling any other pain. I had most of mine with a twilight sedation and I remember gagging over and over, but if you are totally knocked out, you shouldnt feel anything at all.

  I had this done to get a biopsy (dx crohn's) and homesly it was not bad at all. I don't remember a thing. I'm so sorry you're going through this, Kate

  I had it done. I won't tell you the details of  my experience because it was bad. Just make sure they get you all the way under. Since you're in a hospital and not a off site clinic, I'm sure they will be very thorough. Good luck!

  I had one done when I was adnitted for stomach pain and vomitting I never had an option for twilight, my doc knocks everyone out for this proceadure. The worst part for me was the prep. I didn't even have a sore throat when I woke up. Good luck! I hope they get some answers!

  I am glad you will be out for it. I have never had that, but my mom has and I know she didn't think it was too bad.

  I have had upper GI endoscopies on numerous occasions (unfortunately).  I have severe GERD with scarring complications.  The first two times they were done, they had to widen my esophogus and I had a lot of sensitivity and throat pain afterwards.  I still have pain when I breath cold air through my mouth and at other random times.

  The times when they did the endoscopy without widening my esophogus, I had some pain/discomfort afterward.  However, I couldn't be 100% sure that the pain would have existed had I not had the prior procedures and it definitely wasn't that bad.

  The procedure itself was pretty easy.  Will they be using general anesthesia or twilight for you?

  Me= 37 and DH = 41 
  
  Dx: DOR, Endo, APA+ (really high beta 2 glycoprotein antibody and high everything else tested), heterozygous MTHFR mutation, positive for lupus anticoagulant, high FSH, low AMH and both tubes blocked (per HSG on 3/8/11)
  
  IVF #1 - long lupron (with HGH, intralipids, lovenox and BA); 4 retrieved, 3 fertilized; ET 2 blasts and 1 frozen = BFN
  
  IVF #2 - a version of antagonist with EPP (with HGH, intralipids, lovenox and BA); 6 retrieved, 4 mature, 3 fertilized, 2 blasts and 1 frozen blast transferred on day 5 = BFN.
  
  IVF #3 April was postponed to May, May was canceled. June/July was canceled. Had a cyst aspiration and then began IVF #3 in August. ER on 8/22; ET on 8/24 with AH. +HPT on 9/5. Beta #1 (11dpo) = 3; Beta #2 (15dpo) = 29; Beta #3 (17dpo) = 60; Beta #4 (19 dpo) = 118. Heartbeat at 6 weeks 6 days =132.  Lil is here!
  

  TTC#2:  Trigger + TI = BFN; Clomid + Trigger + IUI = BFN.

  IVF #4:  BCP + MDLF + Lovenox = 7R, 1F = Transferred 1 6-cell embryo on day 3 = BFN

  IVF #5:  MDLF + Lovenox = 4R, 1F = Transferred 1 10-cell compacting embryo on day 3 = BFN

  IVF #6:  (New RE):  Long Antagonist November 2014 (transferred two 8 cell grade 1 embryos and froze one blast) = BFN
  

  FET#1:  BFN

  Hi, Kate:  I am so sorry you're having to have the endoscopy.  I wish I knew earlier so your lucky socks would be there in time!!  I haven't forgotten - I am waiting on one last thing.  (I'm not your official nestie exchange gal - I'm your fill in!)

   I've had one endoscopy and it wasn't terrible - just a sore throat after.  I hope your experience is the same.

  Endoscopies aren't that bad. like everyone else, my throat was sore afterwards.  the worst part for me was the anticipation and the prep!!  I was just wanting to get it over with, but once it was over I was fine.

  Jennifer TTC #1 Dx PCOS 2009 Apr, Aug, and Sept tried clomid cycles.... BFN. Oct...DH SA results were normal. Me...HSG - left tube was clear, right tube was slightly blocked. Dec - Clomid #4 200mg Feb 2010 - IUI #1 200mg Clomid = BFN. June 2010 - IUI #2 200mg Clomid = BFN. March 2011 - IUI #3 w/ injectables = BFN (1st & last with RE, moving on to IVF). July 2011 - consult for IVF. Sept 2011, 1st IVF. Got our BFP on 10/2/11. Became a mom on 5/5/12 to a beautiful baby boy!
