J+MS and really anyone else using formula

Re: J+MS and really anyone else using formula

  • This entire thread pisses me the hell off. OP you are a judgemental lunatic. Maybe you should get off YOUR high horse and stop shoving your opinions down the throats of others. You have no business attacking anyone based on the choices they make for THEIR child. If you want to state your opinions and beliefs fine but launching some ridiculous attack on others is taking it too far. You make ME sick.

For the record I BF and FF and my reasons for doing so are none of your d*mn concern!

  • hehehe.  This post cracks me up.   OP it's great that you have such strong opinions about the health of your child, but don't worry about mine.    Continue to offer resources and supports, that's fine and helpful.

But...... I'm not going to feel bad about the way I feed (fed) my children because of some studies (not controlled studies, btw) that show a slight benefit to breastmilk.   Breastmilk is natural and best and all that, but formula is still a respectable source of nutrition for LO's.    You can be appalled at me all you want and I don't mind if I make you sick, especially because you're not here to throw up on my shoes:)

Breastfeeding does not work for everyone and I'm sick to death of people trying to make other's feel worthless by making statements like, "it makes me sick"  "formula feeding is lazy"  "formula is poison"  ummmm...what else?    There are a few more peachy statements like those.   It's ridiculous.    I don't feel bad about my choices, but other's do (or regret their circumstances) and I see no reason to perpetuate those feelings instead of offering support.

    https://fearlessformulafeeder.blogspot.com/

So...please OP, continue to spread the 'word' and offer helpful resources, but it would be super helpful if you could just leave it at that.    Although, the drama can be entertaining on an otherwise slow Tuesday morning.....

  • I'm pretty sure the troll is here to stay whether we feed her or not.  So in light of that . . .

Atelier, why can't you use your powers for good instead of evil?  Maybe instead of bullying and judging other women over their struggles, you should be taking action to make donated BM cheaper and more easily accessible to everyone.  Hell, if you come up with a game plan, I'll even help you.  You're not the only one who feels strongly on this issue--you're just the only one who seems to think that tearing others down is the least bit beneficial to your cause.

OP... I formula feed. Not because I can't breastfeed, but because I choose not to.

    I also work full time.

    I'm also pro-choice. (Clearly your mother wasn't.)

No amount of internet literature will get me to change my mind. I do what is best for my family. You do what is best for yours (though I really doubt you even HAVE children with all the time you spend causing drama online...)

    Get off your damn soapbox.

This is a great idea actually. Is there someone that wants to try this, we could probably make a strong argument with the ins company to cover is based on the fact that breastmilk fed babies do not get sick as often if at all as formula fed babies. That alone would save the ins company money in the long run.

Now here may be a productive idea (although I think you'd have a hard time convincing insurance companies of the bolded statement........not a enough of a difference to make it worth their while).

While you're doing this, you should also look into making milkbanks more accessible to rural areas, you know, because they're not.

I don't think it would be difficult as there is plenty of research that proves that breastfed babies are healthier. Thats kind of the whole "breast is best" campaign. *raises eyebrows*

    Milk banks ship overnight.

But, the actual numbers would have to significantly higher (which they are not) to make it worth while for an insurance company to pay for the higher cost of milkbank milk.

What method of shipment?   Not everywhere can get overnight shipping (we can't - not in any way shape or form).

Anyway, interesting stuff.   Hopefully, you can find a way  to convince insurance companies and find reasonable access to ALL rural areas (not just highly populated rural areas).  I do think it's a worth while cause.    What I don't think is worth while is bashing formula feeding mom's.......

Guess what. What is "easiest" for you is not whats best for your baby, no matter what you would like to think. Breastmilk is better nutrition for your baby, and provides benefits now and for the rest of their life. It also provides benefits for mom's health too.

I'm sad for you that you don't want to believe solid facts and that you do not care enough to provide what is best for your child. You sound like an idiot.

And stop with the BS, you aren't "sad" for anyone! That would be adorable.

And I never mentioned anything about formula preparation either... it really isn't hard at all, in case you were wondering.
