elevated mattress in crib?

has anyone tried this with a weezy baby? I heard somewhere that an elevated matress can help LO breath better when having a stuffy nose? WDYT?

  • yeah try it...it can't hurt.  I did find that once kids start moving around it didn't help though.  I would do it for my first son and when he was moving around - he would end up all the way at the low end anyway.  I did it with my 2nd a couple of weeks ago b/c he was very stuffy I think it helped a little.

  • my DD's bed is elevated due to being congested for like 6 weeks now, she is also on an antibiotic for it, just cuz it has been going on for SO long. so I would say try it, it wont hurt. oh and my DD does move when she is waking up but when she starts to wake I just get up and get to soon after I start to hear her.
  • Go for it. We keep M's mattress elevated to help with her reflux. It's worked for us. Can't hurt!
  • Our pediatrician told us to do the same thing, but my LO goes down facing one way, and will wake up facing another!
