I woke up in the middle of the night in pain... It wasnt terrible pain but something that was very uncomfortable... like my stomach was tightening or so...Not really sure how to explain it. I thought they may have been contractions or Braxton Hicks but they went on constantly for like 45mins. no breaks in between to where I could count or anything. Plus my baby was moving like crazy at the same time which made things feel even worse. Do Braxton Hicks only lasts for a few minutes or have anyone had them lasts longer? Have no idea what was going on...
Re: How long does Braxton Hicks Lasts??
I'm confused - you say it was constant for 45 minutes, but you say "they." Was it a constant 45 minutes of pain, or was there any type of relief for any amount of time?
It's very possible it was gas pains. Mine tends to be worse at night, and can feel like a tightening as well, but not cramping - just abdominal pain that won't go away.
Generally, changing position, drinking some water, or getting up to walk around for a bit can help get things moving if that's the problem. If you think it was cramping or BH, call your dr next time.
Braxton hicks dont hurt, they just feel like a tight spot in the belly, and last less than 30 seconds... You should call your doctor.
Other times, it seems like braxton hicks, but its just the baby stretching in a weird way....
This sounds like something you should call the doctor for.
Braxton Hicks shouldn't hurt - and from your explanation I'm not sure whether you're saying it was painful or just very uncomfortable (I get them a lot. They're very uncomfortable, but certainly not painful.).
No contraction, BH or true labor, should last nonstop for 45 minutes. I tend to think PP might be right when suggesting it could have been gas pain.
But like I said, I'd call the doctor and explain and let them weigh in.
