your DH and how was your first date?
I'll go first. One of my good friends set us up...we actually met at a baseball game. Then she got tired of us both talking to her about the other and she 'accidentally' replied to an email I sent her to my DH. After that he contacted me and we went on our first date. haha. We went to a local brew pub. Closed the place down. He thought he hit the jackpot when he found out that I love beer, love football and love Star Trek.

Well, DH and I met through friends, and were friends first. About 8 months later, we started hanging out more often...and the we decided to make things official. We never really had a "first date" but for our 1 month anniversary he took me to this restaurant on a lake where we could see the sun set while we ate
5 years later, we got married, on the day we made things official.
DH and I met Freshman year of high school - and have been madly in love ever since (11 years together, 3 years married).
He sat behind me in French class and told me my hair was pretty. Then, he asked me to the "Spring Fling" dance via a note passed through a mutual friend. That was our first date.
The best part is that they had a photographer at the dance, so we have a picture of us on our first date.
I met DH at a club of all places.
Our first date wasn't really a "date" per se. He asked me if I wanted to go to a BBQ. Little did I know his ENTIRE family was there! So, I met his entire family on our first date. It's a good thing he is cute!

2 weeks of emails and phone calls -finally met at a pub/burger type place. However my good guy friend didn't have a date for a concert at House of Blues that night, so I said I would go with him (he lived 2 blocks from the pub). So I set date with DH for 2pm and figured I'd get out of there long before 6pm when I needed to get to other guys house to change. (FYI, I told DH I had to leave to meet up with my cousin who was in town - LIE! He now knows the truth)
It went so great with DH that I got to guy #2's place at 6:30 (late) and as I was changing he asked me how the date went - I told him that was the guy I was going to marry. Only time I ever "just knew".
Sad that I have completely lost touch with friend guy now, we used to be so close.

I became buddies with his house-mate, and eventually the 3 of us hung out together all the time at their place. We'd all make dinner together, and have geeky movie or tv series marathons. After about a couple months I had a thing for him, and was two weeks away from calling him up and asking him out myself, when he called me and asked me to dinner. First time I ever squealed and hopped around laughing in response to getting asked out, lol.
Our first date was really casual, just dinner at a cafe.
We officially met through a mutal friend. Our first date he took me to dinner and then to go see Toy Story (lol he really must have been trying to impress me because there is no way I could get him to do that now).
*I say officially because we met twice before that. The first time I don't remember because I was at a party and throwing up off on these people's front steps (I know classy). DH actually stepped over me with his girlfriend at the time, lol. The second time dh's group of friends came to meet my group of friend at a club (we didn't know each other at the time). DH couldn't come inside because he was too drunk so at the end of the night I left the club with another guy and walked by DH, who was hanging out of a car window throwing up (yup, to be 18 again). We didn't put all this together until years later so it was actually pretty funny when we figured it out.

DH and I were both working at a residential facility for juvenile sex offenders. When you work somewhere like that you have to be REALLY close with your coworkers because you have to trust them to have your back when someone gets violent, runs away, etc. We hung out a lot before we (secretly started dating).
DH's roomate's fiance did not like that I hung out at their apt. so much (I think she thought I was after her man which is NASTY!) and said she didn't want me over there anymore (ha ha yeah) SO we told her me and my now DH were dating. Well one thing led to another and we for real started dating. We said I love you within a month of that and started talking about getting married right after that. Turns out me and DH's roomat'es now wife are really good friends now. Happy Ending = )
We never really had a real date because we always just hung out after work. He was my BFF before we were together so it just felt like real normal life when we went out. I still got the butterflies everytime and still do to this day = )
I love this story! We were a chemistry.com success story. DH suggested brunch after like a month of emailing. He shook my hand after and didn't kiss me until date 3. I still tease him about it. He said he was just trying to treat me like a long term potential relationship! Worked out for him but was confusing as hell at the time.
That's really sweet.
We met while we were both on vacation in South beach florida. It was raining and my friend and I decided to go have some drinks and MH and one of his friends gave us their bar stools ( we were soaked). DH was on a Bach party and I was away on a girls weekend. He told me at the time it was a birthday party for his friend because he was afraid he would scare us away. I was actually not interested in him when we first met but my friend like one of his friends and we hung out with each other the first night and then saw each other a couple other times during the weekend. Coinicidently we both lived in the NYC area and after we got back from Miami I called him and he asked me to dinner.
Our first date was great it was at a restaurant by my apt and drinks at a roof top bar. Our second date on the other hand accidentally turned into his whole family inviting themselves over his house for a BBQ. We were suppose to have a BBQ with 2 other couples and his family found out about it and invited themselves over. Thankfully I'm from a big family so it really didn't bother me since his family (aunts, uncles, parents, cousins) is only about 15 people

DH and I met on hotornot.com (embarassingly enough). He was so smitten with my grainy web-camera picture my friend snapped without me knowing that he bought a membership just to email me. We emailed novels to each other for 5 months (and snail mailed) before I couldn't take it anymore! I drove 6 hours (and 6 back) to spend a day with him.
It is one of my top 5 favorite days. He took me to his favorite pizza place, then to a beautiful botanical garden. He made me dinner in his dorm room. We then went to see "Lady Killers" and afterwards walked downtown with our arms wrapped around each other. Then I drove home, and got pulled over by a cop for the first time! And then called in sick to work the next day (I was so tired).

My grandmother knew the moment she met him that he would be my husband. I'm glad, since she passed away before we got engaged.
I met MH on the German equivalent to facebook, it's called meinvz.
We started writing messages to each other, then e-mails. He was working in Germany at that time. 4 months later we finally met up in person, he came to visit me (we lived 2 hours apart from each other) and we explored Bremen, the city I lived in at that point.
We started dating that weekend and went on a 11 day vacation to Portugal together 6 weeks later. After 3 months, only 2 days before Christmas, he had to move back to the US and since I didn't have a visa I couldn't go with him. I found a job that sponsored a visa for 1 year and I followed him 9 months later.

We met at work. We both worked at a grocery store while in college. DH was a manager and I was a cashier...oops! We had to keep it secret the entire time.
For our first date, he took me to a restaurant right on a river that runs through San Marcos, Texas. We actually went to eat there for the first time since our first date (over 7 years ago!) a couple of weekends ago when we went back to our alma mater for homecoming.
Now I dont feel like such an idiot. I too met MH on POF. hahaha
We met sophomore year in Highschool. Started dating right away and have been together for almost 12 years now, married for 8
And our first date was lame because my mom had to drop us off at the movies in her minivan.

This is sweet - MH and I celebrate monthly wedding anniversaries - just passed 14. Everyone looks at us like we are Crazy, but any reason to celebrate, we'll take it! We also got married 5 years after we started dating.
I met him at work - we were both interns in completely different jobs at a big site through two different community colleges. We met at an intern ice cream social, though neither of us is crazy about ice cream.
We consider our first date the day we went skydiving! We had known each other for a year, had been to a few shows with friends, had lunch with other interns on a regular basis, spent lots of time getting to know each other first!

That was 7 years ago.

We met at a mutual friend's high school graduation party (whom I'd just graduated high school with). The funny thing was that DH was there with his best friend and I was there with my best friend, now DH and his best friend both really liked me, but DH decided to be the nice guy and let his friend talk to me. Meanwhile me and my best friend really both liked DH, but I thought I'd let my best friend go to talk to my DH. Well, luckily for me and DH after finding out that we both really liked each other, our friends stepped aside.
For our first date, he took me to see My Best Friend's Wedding. I'm not sure if it was after our first date, but I remember early in our relationship, talking one night just for hours and hours about everything and anything.

A few years later I run into him at a store with my now ex-boyfriend, who happened to be an abusive jerk. Sparks kinda flew during that meeting, and I said screw you to the guy that hit me and cheated on me with all my friends. And my husband opened his heart to my broken self.

We met in college, we were in the same group of friends and he was the DJ at the college bar and I thought he was sooo cool because he could get me in without ID haha. He was dating someone at the time and I liked him so much I literally cried every time he brought her around (pathetic I know, but I was 19!). I had a huge crush on him but was too shy to say anything for three years. He finally broke up with her, and our mutual friend set us up.
Our first date was to a comedy club, which he had free tickets to because he worked with Chuck Nice (the comedian- he made sure to let me know he worked with Chuck Nice to impress me lol). Then he took me up to the radio station where he worked and had the DJ mention on air that we were on our first date. He then took me to Gray's Papaya (New Yorkers know this as the place that sells 50 cent hot dogs!) and ordered a dog with onions, which I thought was gross, but I kissed him anyway. We've been inseparable ever since- even though he spent maybe $2 on our first date lol.
