update- baby arrival

Hi Ladies,

I just wanted to update you since I last told you all I was on hospital bed rest last week.  They were hoping my little one would hold on four more weeks but he was born last Thursday at exactly 31 weeks.  They had to induce me since I was showing signs of infection 3 days after my water broke.  After a really difficult pitocin labor, and natural birth, Colin Thomas was born at 8:52 PM weighing in at 4 pounds.   He will be in the NICU for at least 7 more weeks.  I was released on Saturday morning and have been back and forth to the hospital at least twice a day to deliver breast milk and spend time with him.  The past week has been such a blur!!  Its amazing how much he has changed my life already. I've definitely learned that we all have little control over plans and how your life can change in a second and suddenly all your priorities shift!

I want to wish you all a happy rest of your pregnancies and ask for some thoughts and prayers for my little one.  I hope to stop back and check in on your updates and hopefully give you positive updates on my little peanut too!!

    4lbs at 31 weeks, that is great!  I hope he continues to grow and develop just like he is supposed to and that his NICU stay is short with a happy ending!  Will keep you  and him and your family in our t&p's- keep us updated!!

    Oh My Gosh!  I'm so glad things are okay with you and Colin!  Was he having any issues when he was born, other than being a premie?

    Congratulations!  I know it didn't go the way you expected or hoped, but I am so glad to hear Colin is well and that you are able to spend so much time with him.  My thoughts and prayers are with your whole family, I hope he will be able to come home as soon as possible!

    I'm sorry you had to deliver early and your LO is in NICU, but T&Ps that he does well and grows really strong.  Take care of yourself and I hope in 7 short weeks LO gets to go home with you with no issues.  I'll be keeping an eye out for updates and congratulations on becoming a mommy Smile
    I give up trying to get a ticker.  I have a DD that is 2.5 years old and is awesome.  Maybe I'll add a quote to distinguish myself.  Hmmm.  How about...

    Congrats on the arrival of Colin! He will be in my thoughts and prayers and I hope that he'll be out of the NICU and home with his family even sooner than you expect. I bet he will grow and thrive on your breastmilk! Please keep us updated with all his growth and progress, even though he was born in November you're still a January '11 mama!

    WOW! I'm sorry you had to go through a rough labor and early one at that. I'm glad that Colin is doing well though. You had a little turkey! Congrats and let us know when he gets to go home.

    I was going to tell you that I'm going through pPROM too and there's a message board on Facebook for it if you ever need support and/or people to talk and vent to. Baby Center also has a group for it. I'm really happy for you and your baby and I'm glad you're doing well. I'll be praying for you guys
