I have a good friend about to give birth. She lives in CT and we are in TX so I did not attend any showers. Her registry is basically empty so that is a no-go. They also did not find out the sex. I do plan on sending some clothes that are gender specific after the baby is born, and soemthing personalized with the name, but I would like to spend more and give something useful, so what is your go to gift?
Re: What is your go-to baby gift?
Not cute, but I have gotten rave reviews for the Bissell Little Green steam cleaner that I have given about 4-5 times.
Doesn't get much more useful than that, and they can't outgrow it.

I've gotten a few people the Sabrina diaper caddy from Pottery Barn: https://www.potterybarnkids.com/products/sabrina-diaper-caddy-and-gingham-liners/?pkey=e|caddy|3|best|0|1|24||1&cm_src=PRODUCTSEARCH||NoFacet-_-NoFacet-_-NoMerchRules-_-
And I put some essentials in it: baby wash, lotion, diaper rash cream, burp cloths, washcloths, infant motrin, baby brush, nail clippers, etc.
Miracle Blanket if they didn't register for it (so much better than other swaddlers), Sophie, and a bunch of books (NOT Goodnight Moon and other ones they'll get multiple copies of, but cute ones I never heard of pre-kids).
