Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Any retired BFers really hate your post-BFing bod?

I was definitely not happy with my body after pregnancy, but after stopping pumping it's probably 1000 times worse. I feel like everyone lost weight from BFing but me and now I'm the only one left saggy and gross.

Please tell me I'm not the only one!

  • I'm not quite retired yet, (one more month), but I'm there with you.  :o(  My MW said some women just don't lose the weight, they actually hang onto to help make milk.  I was just one of those lucky women!  Crying

DH agreed I could get a boob lift once we're done having kids, hopefully I can get the rest back in order myself.

  • I am too:(  I still have about 5 lbs to lose but my body is just different in general.  I was always naturally thin so I just assumed I would bounce right back or be like all my friends who nursed and ended up even skinner from burning all the extra calories.  Ya not so much.  I was still 11-12 lbs heavier until I completely weaned.

I was a 34A pre-pregnancy and was a 36C while nursing for 8 months.  Now I'm even flatter then I was before except they look even hotter because they are spread out farther on my wide rib cage that never got the memo to shrink.  And they are like deflated floppy fried eggs on a nail.  Gross.

  • I'm not quite retired, but weaned down a great deal. And yes, I agree! I was actually feeling pretty good a few months ago. But I think as I've been cutting down on BFing I have started to put some weight on. So, I'm starting to focus again on losing 5-10 lbs.
  • When I began to wean I put on weight. Now that I've completely stopped my boobs are smaller (even though I'm pregnant). Not fun.

  • I have not stopped BFing, and even though I lost all the weight I am still unhappy with my body. I have a million and one stretch marks on my belly, legs, and butt, and with the sagginess it just looks gross. I weigh less then what I did before being prego, but my belly, for whatever reason, is worse then what it was before.

Whether we loose the weight or not, I think no one is completely happy after having a baby. We need to empower ourselves and begin to be happy with what we have.

  • OMG- you are too funny.

I thought I had the perfect description for my post-nursing boobs- like a plastic bag with a little water in the bottom of it.  But your description is much more accurate.

...sorry, techno tart here... this was the post I meant to reply to....

  • I actually weigh less than I did pre-pregnancy but my body is different. And my boobs are disgusting. It's like I lost all the volume from my boobs and they just dropped... DH laughs because I call them "village boobs" like from national geographic.  We've decided that I'll get my boobs done once we make the decision of whether we are going to have another baby.  So I have to live with these sorry excuses for breasts for at least another 2 years.
