WWYD-- F/U to "Shower vs. Due Date"

So my FIL and his girlfriend are getting married in February, and were planning a traditional Chinese banquet dinner on Feb 5th (during the Chinese new year).  This WAS the day we were planning for my shower...hence my earlier post of whether or not 3-4 weeks before my EDD would be enough time in advance to have my shower.

My FIL has asked if this a convenient day for us, and it's really not.  But it's his WEDDING which is a pretty big deal too, and even though I really would prefer my shower on Feb 5, I feel bad asking them to change their date.  (My shower cannot be any other weekend in Feb, as my host is out of town.  So it's not Feb 5th, then we have to wait until March).

If  haven't confused you all, what would you do?  Go for March or ask them to change their date?

    Why not change it to the end of January?  I would NOT ask someone to change their wedding.  Even if you paid me to.  That's tacky & rude & quite selfish! 

    There's no reason you can't have it a little earlier.  If that doesn't work for some reason, then just suck it up, be the bigger person & have it in march.

    I'd go for March (or late January?).  I would not ask them to change their wedding date.  A baby shower is not in the same league as a wedding...kwim?

    Thanks gals.  Having it in January is a good idea.  The only reason I thought of keeping it Feb 5th is because my FIL seemed to be flexible with their dinner banquet date (none of us are invited to the actual ceremony).  Jan is a good solution.
