In my pregnancy books it always says to call the doc if you have frantic movements from the baby. I'm not having them or anything, but I was curious as to what this was or what it might mean. Anyone know?
I'll be interested to hear what people say about this. For awhile this LO would have really crazy movements like she had a cold chill and shook or something like that. DH felt them too in the middle of the night last night. They've since stopped, but I forgot to tell my Dr. at my last appt. My fear was seizures.
From what I just read, it feels like rapid fluttering or like if you were to shake/bounce your leg for awhile and can be an indicator of epilepsy. I've been feeling random fluttering...like LO's whole body is moving around at once and have been wondering what kind of movements he/she must be doing in there to create that feeling. I'm sure my imagination will be running away with this one.

I also felt movements like this...in my head they felt/feel "frantic". But, I read others on here saying they were feeling similar movements, so I wasn't very concerned.
I get them sometimes. Almost like a frantic squirming. But I have always just chalked it up to trying to get comfortable. Especially now that its getting tighter in there and they have only recently been happening over the last month or so.
Do you think it could be something more than that? Should I be concerned?

I think that if we are all feeling a similar movement, it probably isn't something to be concerned about. But, I am starting to question that now..of course..I worry too much...
Ok I'm talking to my midwife about this at my appointment on Wednesday because I definitely have been feeling what I would describe as frantic movement. I didn't think anything of it, but now I'm most definitely freaked out.
Last night LO moved a few times and it almost felt like he had a quick shiver. I thought nothing of it until I just read all of this! I guess I will be asking my doctor about it at my appt on Friday!
I get some crazy movements too. Sometimes my whole belly is shaking. I brought it up with my dr and she laughed and said "you have a busy one in there' She didn't sound worried, she only told me to call if I don't feel any movement.
I wouldn't worry.

I actually called my doctor about these and they said it really wasn't something to be concerned about. It feels exactly like what others have said- like she is having a little seizure in there. I told them this and they said not to worry...so im trying not too ha

I feel like people post about crazy baby movement all the time which makes me think it's just normal. I wouldn't worry. I mean, there's an entire person crammed in your belly- a lot of the movements will feel crazy!
I asked my doctor about this two weeks ago because I was having (and am still having) what I would describe as 'frantic movement.' It literally feels like LO is having a seizure or banging from side to side as fast and as hard as he can. My doc said not to worry and that she gets that question all the time. She said it's totally normal. My BF had the same movements with her daughter who is now two months old with no health problems.

I am so happy someone posted this. I forgot to ask my doctor last week, but sometimes the feeling of 'seizures' like some of you have said, would make me so nervous!
Re: What are frantic movements?
Oh man, I just made the mistake of Googling this.
