I've been cloth diapering the old fashioned way - using gerber flats and plastic covers. I'm crossing over to the dark side and investing in a stash
. DS is 3 mo and 14 lbs, 25.5 in long. I've been e-baying (I live in Arkansas and have had no luck as of yet with CL and physical stores) a lot lately and finding a bunch of deals that seem to be good ones (20 dipes for $75, free shipping). Is building a stash kind of hit or miss with brands as far as finding a brand that fits LO pretty well?
With all of that being said (or asked, rather), should I be looking into two different kinds of dipes for day time and night time wear? I am going to do one size AIOs as far as I know because DS is such a fast grower. Can I use disposable liners in AIOs for going out? I'm new to all of this... can anyone give me a run down? Thanks!
Re: Stash recommendations?
Check out Spots Corner and Diaper Swappers for more deals on mostly used diapers.
I think it's best to try a number of different kinds of diapers to figure out what you like best, and what fits your LO best. Also, keep in mind that what works for your baby now may not work at 8 months and vice versa. So it's nice to have a number of different options as baby grows.
I do have to have different diapers for night because my daughter STTN and pees a LOT. But at your son's age, I wouldn't worry too much about that. Pocket diapers are good options because you can add more absorbency as you need it. If you have some pockets on hand, when your baby starts peeing through them, you'll only need to buy more inserts, and not necessarily totally new diapers.
As far as disposable liners go, there are a number of A12 systems that allow for a disposable soaker. Flip, Grovia, and gDiapers are a few that come to mind.
Good luck and have fun shopping!
