Re: Favorite foods/snacks for 14 month old
Breakfast we do frozen waffles (I get blueberry ones, and toast them so they are warm but not crispy, with a little butter), pancakes, scrambled eggs with cheese, honey nut cheerios, Kashi heart to heart, bananas, grapes, yogurt. ?
Lunch and dinner menus include chicken nuggets, homemade pizza, cheese, hotdogs (oscar meyer premium-no added nitrates), ham or turkey lunch meat, celery sticks, green pepper strips, pot roast. ?Usually whatever we are eating, unless its not something he can easily eat then I will make him something else. ?
edit: ?He also loves grilled cheese, PB&J, and quesadillas with cheese and a little salsa. ?
LO gets Earth's Best Organic Muesli and apricot cereal or pear and oatmeal cereal for breakfast on daycare days. Weekends are organic scrambled eggs and organic blueberry waffles.
Snacks: green grapes, banana bits, organic yogurt, cheddar cheese chunks, bits of granola bar
Last night we made homemade pizza with organic sauce, cheese, and tons of veggies. We served it with scrambled eggs and LO loved it.
She'll eat any of the following:
Breakfast: Eggs (scrambled with spinach or hard-boiled), waffles, pancakes, oatmeal with fruit, yogurt, cottage cheese with fruit, bagel thins with cream cheese, toast with blueberry jam, diced fruit, applesauce..
Lunch/Dinner: Whatever we are having. This week's menu includes beef tacos (lettuce, tomato, avocado, cheese, sour cream) with black beans and rice, baked chicken with roasted carrots and potatoes, homemade pizza pinwheels (some pepperoni, some ham/mustard/cheese), pasta salad (pasta, tomato, avocado, cucumber, chick peas, diced ham), spaghetti with ground turkey sauce, and chicken-stuffed croissants.
Some other ideas -
Proteins: Ham, grilled chicken strips, turkey bites, sausage crumbles, quinoa..
Carbs: Baked potato bites, pierogies, any kind of pasta, sandwiches, rice (with or without shredded veggies).
She LOVES veggies. She'll eat broccoli, zucchini, squash, corn on the cob, green beans, asparagus, cucumber, carrots, snap peas, edamame, etc.
Snack can be raisins, graham crackers, yogurt, whole-sun crackers with dried fruit, drinkable yogurt, baked sweet potato fries, string cheese, animal crackers...
DD has no problem eating what we eat. Sometimes we make small adjustments to her portion - for instance, withholding the italian dressing on the pasta salad.. but usually she eats what we do.
