I have the one I got when DS1 was little, so 3 or so years ago. The box the batteries go in sticks out from the body of the aquarium, and somehow that part goes on the outside of the crib, but I cannot for the life of me remember how to get the two pieces (body of the aquarium and the battery case) apart. The new ones have the batteries inside the body of the aquarium and there's no longer a manual online that addresses the older version.
Can anyone help me out here? Did that even make sense?
Re: Does anyone have the older FP aquarium?
The battery case just fits into the body of the aquarium, but I do think there are screws that be used to keep it secure. I unscrewed mine upon first use and never used the screws again.
You should be able to just pull them apart, or there are screws holding it in place in which case you unscrew and then pull apart.
