I have some topical creams that my dermatologist gave me that have been doing wonders for me, but not sure if I can still use-I have very mild psoriasis. I am going to stop in the meantime and talk to my doc during our first appt. Are there any OTC alternatives? I'm using Aquaphor, but looking for something else, it gets a little greasy for me.
Re: Psoriasis and Pregnancy
Not sure about Psor, but I have really bad dandruff. I use rx shampoos only. One contains salicylic acid. I know there are some otc comps but the % is lower (obviously). I read that sal acid is not ok during preg but Im not sure about ketoconozale & the other. I will ask my doc on my first visit(nov 16) but till then, I wont be using my rx shampoos. Im really nervous about how flaky my scalp will become without my rx, but Im hoping the pregnancy & hormone change may effect this in a positive way anyway.
I would hold off till u talk to OB
I would call your dermatologists office and ask about it. They'll either be able to give you a topical cream that "okay" for pregnancy or should be able to recommend one. Or they'll tell you the one you use now is okay for pregnancy.
I would also check with your OB, though they may not know anything about the different types of creams.
