Hemorrhoids: How to get rid of them?

I think I already had one before I had my LO, but it only flared up every once in a while and didn't really cause any problems. But for the past month or so I have one (the same one?) and it has gotten to the point that I absolutely need to do something to get rid of it. Every time I use the restroom, it hurts HORRIBLY and I bleed either a little bit or I bleed tons.

Anyways, anyone else in the same boat? Or does anyone know how to get rid of them?

I've been trying Preparation H, but that's it.

    I'm with ya momma! I've had mine over 4 months.. at first it only hurt during a bm but now it hurts 8-10 hours later, preventing me from sleeping. awful! I finally went to the dr and he recommended using prep h every 3 hours, completely soaking your um "area" hehe with it. so every 3 hours I use a tucks pad then prep h. also I take 3 stool softeners a night. so far Its helping a ton! good luck! these suckers are horrible

    I'm in the same boat!! I hate my, i also had it before i had DS but it seems as if now i have to deal with pain and bleeding every time i go, i have use preparation H and also does Tuck wipe and nothing seems to get rid of them only helps with the pain. I really wish i could get rid of my Sad

    I am trying Tucks pads tonight. Prep H has not helped, so a friend who went through the same thing recommended tucks.

    I got an RX corticosteroid cream and also use Prep H, Tucks and recently got Miralax, which is a liquid laxative which has helped tremendously since the Colace stopped doing its job.  My docs have also recommended a hot sits bath because apparently the hot water shrinks it but I haven't tried that yet.  Maybe this weekend.  Good luck, I'm in the same painful boat.

    I'm there. I think my bc pill (Yaz) was aggravating it because it had started to go away before I started on it. I just changed to Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo 4 days ago, so I hope it helps. Tucks and Prep H haven't made much difference. Someone told me that taking magnesium can help too, but I haven't tried it yet. Besides bc, I can't seem to remember to take daily medicines/vitamins since DS was born.
