Recommend your car/train set!

DS has been very into us making ramps and tracks for his cars to go down (we're just using blocks, boxes, random items that seem to work). We want to buy him a set for Christmas he could have his cars race down, and as he gets a bit older, have fun putting together and building himself. Any recommendations?

  • We're getting the geotrax.  My sister had a set her girls played with until the youngest was 6.  I don't have first hand knowledge, but her 3 loved this.

  • The best toy investment we ever made was in an Ikea train set. Cheap, no batteries required, and it can be used with the wooden Thomas sets.

Yes   I got it at a garage sale for cheap and have bought random Thomas, Melissa and Doug, and Brio pieces to add.  He plays with daily and sets up and takes apart and tracks all the time.

  • I don't know if you are looking for a table or just track, but DS has this and he loves it!

  • DH is building DS a train table for Christmas & I'm kind of leaning towards geotrax, but haven't decided for sure. They had really good reviews on amazon.

  • I got a killer deal on the GeoTrax at a garage sale. He LOVES it! But he always wants help putting it together even though he CAN snap it together himself.  He loves the remotes and everything.
