i just found out yesterday that my mom isn't coming for thanksgiving, which is when we were going to tell her (before everyone else) that i'm pregnant. i am seriously so bummed. so now i either work it to go down and visit her (7+ hours) so i can tell her in person, or it's over the phone. i know there's no way she could have known, but it just makes me so sad

sorry, whiney vent over.

That would make me sad too-I'm sorry! Maybe there is a way you can meet in the middle to tell her? That's what we ended up doing with my in-laws because we wanted to tell them in person.

that stinks. Can you do it over skype? Can you send something in the mail and have her on the phone with you while she opens an ultrasound or a "I love grandma" bib?

Awww, that really sucks, I'm sorry to hear that. My mom lives on the east coast, so we knew we wouldn't be able to go out and see her (saving money for baby instead of plane tickets!).

I found a bakery near her office and had a dozen pick and blue cupcakes delivered to her at work. Prior to that, I mailed them a picture frame that says "grandma" with the U/S photo and they delivered that as well. She called me and was so excited.

Maybe you can find a cool way to tell her since you can't do it in person?
