I cannot for the life of me get DD to sit still and actually let me wash her from head to toe. We clean a little here, play some, get an underarm clean there, play some more, maybe get one butt cheek scrubbed, etc.
I feel like I'm constantly spot washing this kid because she won't let me wash her down good in the tub. I give her a fairly long bath to let her bum soak and I soap her down and try and clean her as best as possible but she's constantly pushing me out of the way to get to her toys.
Help.
Re: How do you get your kid clean in the tub?
I don't give DS any toys until I'm done cleaning him. It takes about 3 minutes. I wet him down while the tub is filling, soap him up from head to toe, then rinse. DONE!
THEN he gets to play.
Oh well aren't you smart.
I will have to try that tonight. I can see this being a fight the first few times when she gets in and there's no toys in there.
I don't let her have toys until we are done bathing.
She also helps shampoo her hair. And I put toys in the soap holder up high and tell her to look for them so that I can rinse her hair easily. She's old enough to understand now that if she doesn't look up, she gets soap in her eyes, so she is generally compliant with that too.
you could try just one toy for distraction but them hold the rest till clean thats what we do.
