I had a consult with the LC, who confirmed my low supply. my OB agreed to prescribe Reglan. I'm hoping it helps! :)

Re: low supply--anyone have any experience using Reglan?

  • Yes- it helped me.  Not to the point where I didn't have to suppliment but I definately saw in increase in production.  I will say that I was EXHAUSTED the first few days to a week that I was on it.  I pushed through and got over the fatigue.  I did not have any depression issues, but some people do.

  • It helped me, but not to the point where I could exclusively breastfeed or continue breastfeeding (I had other issues b/c DS was in the NICU for a while and never learned to suck properly).

The main side effect I had was exhaustion. I thought it was just b/c I was a new mom, but after I stopped taking it I realized it was b/c of the reglan.

If you produce some milk and just need a boost, I think it's worth trying. I wasn't producing enough to begin with so it didn't help me enough. Good luck!

(PS: try mothers milk tea and supplements...they also helped me a bit.)

  • Yes!  Down to just one bottle of 4oz formula now!  Thanks to Reglan!
  • it helped me boost my supply from 12-13oz pumper per day, to 17-18oz pumped per day.  A boost, but not enough to not supplement.
