anyone know anything about this? I haven't tried sleep training but this us unacceptable. he's not hungry but 1 of the 12-15 wake ups. I will do anything, I'm going insane.
he's 4 months & 10 days old.
we've also recently experienced 4 month wakeful which WAS waking a few more times, and we are pretty aware of his teething signals which he isn't displaying during these new 45 minute insanity sessions.
Re: omg, he wakes every 45 minutes!
Sorry to hear you are having such a rough time.
Do you have a white noise machine? Some sort of light projection so he has something to look at if he wakes up? Is he swaddled/not swaddled? Have you tried a sleep sack? Some people get good results from a sleep sack with a blanket wrapped swaddle-tight around the torso (the pressure makes them feel secure). Have you thought about getting a wubbanub or something similar (K can almost always get hers back in her mouth without assistance - don't let her have it at night unsupervised but if she was waking every 45 minutes, I would).
Good luck...
This was us, too. The magic sleep suit makes them lay on their back. I've seen DS try to roll to his side and it won't let them!
DD#1 went through this, from 4-6 months. After 2 months of NO sleep DH and I were zombies. We finally let her cry at 6 months. It took 3 nights (only one night did she cry for very long) and she was sleeping all night. And she has ever since (except for when she is sick, so now when she wakes up I know something is wrong). In retrospect, I don't know why we waited so long. She literally had no idea how to put herself back to sleep, so every time she would go through a sleep cycle, she'd need our help going back to sleep. We had done it to her, with sleep associations like holding her and rocking her until she was asleep. Why wouldn't she want us to recreate that environment for her every time she woke up?
A baby who wakes every 45 minutes all night long is not getting uninterrupted sleep and it is very detrimental in the long run. They are much more cranky, irritable and slow to learn new things. Sleep is extremely important. A couple of nights of crying is not as harmful as long term sleep deprivation. Once DD#1 started sleeping better, she was happier and more alert.

Sorry you are going through this. Good luck!
