Well...
just in case anyone was wondering- 22 contractions in an hour and a half is good reason to call your doctor.
I got to spend 5 hours at our birthing center on Wednesday, watching the contractions, trying to relax. I had a test to see if I was going into preterm labor and had my cervix checked manually and via ultrasound (wasn't in labor, thank goodness). They told me to take the rest of the week off work and just take it easy to see if it would help the contractions. They're pretty sure I'm going to have to go on bed rest before the end (sounds like they're going to make me either stop working or try to figure out something other than working full time at my office), and we're looking into starting some kind of shots that will develop our LO's lungs faster so when she comes early (not so my an IF as it is a WHEN) she'll have a better chance. I just have way too much fluid, which is causing the contractions.
But while they're checking out my fluid levels at the ultrasound they think they see something wrong with the brain. Turns out the ultrasound machine was just too dark and it was nothing- which we discovered at a f/u ultrasound at a larger hospital on Friday. But it was two days of worry that our child was going to be born with brain damage. Ugh.
Anyways. While we were having our f/u ultrasound on Friday they switched it over to 3D and we got to see our LO's face. It was amazing. So, it was a wonderful end to a very stressful week. We have an appointment with my doctor on Thursday, so I guess then we'll see if I am going to start shots or any other medications- or if they're going to alter my work schedule.

Your LO is adorable! You'll be in my thoughts for lots more relaxing time to cook that baby!
Thanks, ladies. Yeah, it was a terrifying couple of days.
Thanks! And yes, the doctor who did our ultrasound said that all the excess fluid helped to give us lots of clear pictures of our little girl...I guess its good for SOMETHING! =]
::HUGS::
Take care of you & keep us posted!
Yikes! I am glad you're okay! The steroid shots they give you to help baby's lungs develop are painful - they sting a lot. They gave me mine in my bum. But, it's worth the pain to know that it's helping your LO
Just be prepared!
Keep us posted, okay
GL!
Thank you so much ladies!!
Oooooooh one more fun thing to look forward to!! LOL But yes, it would be worth the pain. =] Thanks for the heads up!
