Cloth Diapering

diaper rash treatment ?

I know I can't use certain types of diaper rash cream and the only one our walmart has are ones that can't be used with cloth. We live in a small town so I won't get a chance to get something else until next weekend and ordering something will take a little while to get here. Is there anything else I can use for diaper rash until then like cornstarch or baby powder?

Re: diaper rash treatment ?

  • I don't know of anything you can use in place of the rash cream, but you can use the regular kinds if you have some fleece liners. You could just cut up fleece to fit into the diapers. Wal-mart should carry some, otherwise you can buy a fleece blanket or something to use.

I know you may not like this option, but you could buy a small pack of sposies and some cream and just keep LO in those for a couple days until the rash clears up.

  • I think I read somewhere that baking soda (or powder?) in a warm bath helps.  I'd google it.
  • Just cut up some fleece to make liners to keep the cream off the diapers.  Then be sure to wash the liners separately so it does not get on the diapers in the wash.
