Problems with gift registries?

anyone having trouble with having things come off their gift registries?  We have our shower next weekend and my husband was talking to mil yesterday and she commented that she knew people had bought things off the registry but they weren't showing up. ??? not really sure what's going on. guess we'll just have to compare the gifts to the registries after the shower. Hopefully it's just a minor glitch.

    Sometimes people will buy items from the registry, but they won't scan your registry, or tell the cashier that they've purchased it from your registry. So it just stays on there. You get lots of duplicate gifts in that case, like we did with our wedding registry.

    Lots of people will look at your registry online and then go buy a gift without letting anyone know to pull that item from your registry or show it as "purchased." It happens.

    What PP said. Or they could find the item you want at a cheaper price (or with a coupon) somewhere else.  Or they may not live near a place you registered so they took your list to Target (I did this with a friend who had registered at BRU).

    You may get some duplicates, but you can always return items for store credit at the very least!
