Re: Ambien...

  • No... I have only heard horror stories of what happens if you don't go to sleep soon after taking it. If I can't sleep I take a benedryl.

  • I'm curious, what rumors if you don't sleep after you take it?

I don' take Ambien, but I've had a Unisom before. They usually help, otherwise a Benadryl will knock me right out.

  • I have before, but haven't taken anything since LO was born in fear that I wouldn't hear her if she woke up... she's not such a great sleeper :) And I doubt you can take that stuff while breastfeeding. But back in the day, I LOVED Ambien,

  • I took Ambien and unisom together when I was pregnant, (dr ok'd this.)  I was totally fine, it didn't work that great for me.  A few nurses told me that it's not uncommon to do things and forget the next morning.  A few examples were, online shopping, eating foods they don't even really like just to binge eat, (she used the hostess snowballs as an example.)

  • What? You can take Ambien? SOAB. My OB said not to take it after delivery. I assumed that was because I'm breastfeeding. Can you still take it while BF-ing?
  • Oh how I miss my ambien!!! I can't take it because DS still gets up a few times a night and that stuff knocks me the eff out! If I didn't eat before taking it, DH would usually have to literally carry me up to bed. I did SOOO much stuff without knowing while on it, but hey...I always got a good nights sleep:)
