I'm a teacher, and the other day I was HUNGRY at lunch time, so I made a beeline to the teacher's cafeteria. The very sweet and friendly lunch lady said to me, "I wish you looked pregnant."
I responded, "I'm nearly six months pregnant!"
"Yeah, but you don't look pregnant," she responded.
Usually, I would just shrug it off, but I felt my eyes well up, and I said, "That's kind of mean to say." My brain knew this was overreacting, but the hormones were taking over. I walked away to prevent myself from getting upset (crying at any job sucks but at a school full of teenagers? No, I'm not having it.)
Lunch lady CHASES me and GRABS me to apologize (in front of a cafeteria full of students.) I told her to not make a scene, it was fine, just let me go.
Ugh. Thanks, hormones.
I'm a lunatic, right?
Re: Attack of the hormones
Nope! Your not a lunatic! Just pregnant!
wow. that sucks. some hormones, but mostly...stupid people. I'm sure you don't look six months pregnant normally.
A stranger didn't realize (the baby was kicking really hard and I just had to stand there for a second)...she wasn't getting that I am 6 months pregnant and huge. Thanks... do you think I normally look like this? UGHHH
