Hi!
I have 2 very long lists of names... We are looking for something unique, beautiful and reflective of us as a couple and our lifestyle. I know my name choices are not everyones first choice, but just let me know what you love, and what you hate... I'm totally open to comments/criticism/ideas.
Okay...
GIRLS!
Adah, Alba, Milli, Veda, Everly, Ruby, Gemma, Byrd (MN), Bellamy, Holli, Pippa, Verity, Luna, Monet, Vie, Honor, Harlow.
BOYS!
Finn, Ari, Sonny, Royal (MN), Fox (MN), Slade, Bennett, Burton, Max, Roman, Major, Grayson, Grayer, Beau, Storm (MN), Hunter.
Thanks!
Re: new to the board.. Unique names that match our personalities.
I'm not really a fan of any of the girls names. Monet would be the only one that is 'okay' to me.
Finn, Grayson, and Beau I like for boys.
Girls - Monet is my favourite. Harlow is nice, but I wouldn't go there since Nicole Richie recently named her daughter this.
Boys - Ari, and maybe Bennett.

I love....Ada (spelled this way), Ruby, Holly (spelled this way), Harlow, Finn, Max, Roman, and Beau.
All very cool, off-beat names. I love them all, and I'd use them all.
I like....Millie (spelled this way, as a NN for something else), Veda, Gemma, Bellamy, Pippa, Verity, Sonny (as a NN for something else) and Bennett.
Still very fun and cool, just nothing I would "steal" for my own list.
I'm "eh" on....Alba, Luna, Monet, Vie, Honor, Ari, and Grayer.
Not bad, nothing that threatens your child's future---just nothing as good as the above listed names.
I despise....Slade, Major, Grayson, and Hunter.
Because I think Slade sounds like a campy B-movie villain, Major sounds like he's got an ego complex, Grayson sounds like a p.ussy and I have a bad personal assocation with Hunter.
(I consider MNs a free-for-all).
I think you have a fun list. I like it. It's not the norm, but it's by no means made-up, trendiegh, or bad. The only things I don't like are the misspelled names, and I think Millie and Sonny should be short for something (Amelia and Santino come immediately to mind, though the latter is 100% taken from The Godfather).
Ruby Harlow or Veda Ruby
Roman Bennett or Bennett Roman
I love Gemma and Harlow. Like Ruby and Veda.
Holly is ok, I do not like the Holli spelling.
Adah, Alba, Pippa, Luna, Honor are NMS, but ok.
Pippa, Verity, Monet, Vie would be better suited as MNs.
Hate Milli, Everly, Byrd, and Bellamy.
Love Finn (wish this wasn't so popular).
I love Grey but personally don't like any of the longer versions or the spelling using an 'a'.
Fox, Roman, Max, and Hunter are nice.
Actually like Storm as a MN.
Ari and Bennett are meh.
Hate Sonny, Royal (MN), Slade, Burton, Major, and Beau.
Thank you everyone!
I didn't expect such a great and quick response! I think I am in love with this site...
Thanks again for all of the ideas, and suggestions.
Girls - Veda, Holli (but spelled Holly)
Our boy name is Bennett so that gets my vote.
Ruby or Veda.
Ari or Max.
Adah- I don't like- reminds me of "A, duh" like when someone says something dumb and you reply 'duh'
Alba, reminds me of Jessica Alba and of Alma which is very old lady like- not ness. a bad thing.
Milli, Vanilli?? def. NMS
Veda, reminds me a charactor in a movie- can't think of the name, but the girl's dad was a mortician, it was set like in the '60s and her little male BFF died.
Everly, not bad but NMS
Ruby, reminds me of the drunk girl from the real world from MTV- and mind you I didn't watch MTV/real world
Gemma, My fav on your list I know a few ladies with this name- it is growing in popularity (don't think it will ever be in the Emma ranks though)
Byrd (MN), No, def. not.
Bellamy, reminds me of Bill Bellamy
Holli, if use Holly go with the normal y on the end- too cutsey and strippery with the i
Pippa, reminds me of Pippi longstocking- not good
Verity,reminds me of Variety.
Luna, If kid is at all a unique person or 'spacy' will be nicknames Looney Luna (kinda like girl in Harry Potter)
Monet, like in the artist? then, as a teen, she may get made fun of for being "such a Monet" (as in pretty from far away but a hot mess close up), esp. not good if indeed she is a Monet!
Vie, maybe as a nn for Vivanne (or the variants therein)
Honor, nice, old-timey feel (throwing back to puritan times)
Harlow. too trendy- if want unique wouldn't really go with this.
Finn, reminds me of Glee
Ari, nice but trendy
Sonny, reminds me of Sonny Bono- not good thing
Royal (MN), maybe good- as long as last name isn't Blue
Fox (MN), NMS- maybe if you have some Native American in your ancestry
Slade, liek the old band??? bleh
Bennett, NMS sounds too stuffy
Burton, reminds me of Tim Burton- nn maybe would be Burt and that sounds gross to me
Max, eh, ok, nothing great about it though- common enough
Roman, reminds me of Polanski (not a good thing) or of Polygamy (I watch Big Love)
Major, NMS what if kid goes into military (Major, Major?)
Grayson, nice but folloing to be trendy
Grayer, bleh
Beau, nice, I like- reminds me of the old south
Storm (MN) reminds me of the X-men
Hunter- eh, nothing speical- not bad
Adah--if this is the name Aida (ay-dah) I like it, but the spelling is awful. If you mean for it to be pronounce add-ah, as it reads, it's awful all-around.
Alba--fine, if you don't mind people asking if you're an Audrey Niffeneggar fan (that's not necessarily a bad thing, but it might get annoying).
Milli--only if you spell it right: Millie
Everly--I like it.
Ruby--love it.
Gemma--I really like it.
Byrd--hmm, Gemma and Byrd, big fan of Bleubird Vintage, are you? If you're going to go with this word name, spell it right. The name is Bird.
Bellamy--blech.
Holli--spell it right: Holly
Pippa--if she's a sock monkey, sure.
Verity--I like it.
Luna--not my style, but I have nothing bad to say about it, really. Kids are going to be familiar with Harry Potter though, so she might be called Looney and Looney Lovegood her whole life long.
Monet--Love it as a middle name.
Vie--not sure if you wanted "V" or Vye . . . either way I don't really consider it a real name. It would be a great nickname, though.
Honor--I like it, but it may seem dated.
Harlow--too trendy.
Finn--trendy.
Ari--if you're pronouncing it ahr-ee.
Sonny--and Cher. NO!
Royal--isn't this a liquor brand? Not the best association, even if it is a word name and a surname, too.
Fox--as a middle name only. Fox Mulder is a pretty well-known association.
Slade--sounds like a vampire. Please don't do that to your child.
Bennett--trendy. Blech.
Burton--don't like the root Burt- anything.
Max--trendy and uber-popular, but a nice name.
Roman--not my style, but okay.
Major--no. Just no. It's a child, not an English Mastiff.
Grayson--I like it.
Grayer--yuck. I think of the Nanny Diaries immediately.
Beau--love it.
Storm--if it's a horse or a dog.
Hunter--if you are a hunter.

I love Luna. I wanted to save it for a girl one day but DH hated it as a person's name...so we named our dog Luna!
As for the boys I like Grayson best. Spelled Greyson.
40/112
Honor is NMS at all but I am really digging it for some reason!
Beau is my favorite of your boy names.

Adah- Like it, but like it better spelt Ada
Milli- Prefer Mila
Everly- Love it
The rest, not so much.
BOYS!
Finn-Don't mind this one.
Bennett- Don't love, but I love Beckett
Grayson- Love the name Gray. Grayson sounds a little girly to me.
I LOVE Adah! It probably tops my list. Loved it ever since I read The Red Tent. She is one of Jacob's wives, and it was spelled Adah.
Really dislike Grayer, this one is just really pretentious to me.
Gemma or Ruby
Max or Bennett
