Are you intimidated by very pretty people?

The PIP yourself post on 9-12 made me think about this. I am so intimidated by pretty people! There's this chick at my work who's petite and pretty and who always has perfect hair and cute clothes. She makes me feel like a big ol' mess. I'm sure she's nice enough but I'm scared of her.

I'm such a dork. LOL.

  • No. I am intimidated by extremely intelligent people though.
  • No because I'm pretty.
  • Sure am.  When I am around gorgeous people I feel like an awkward teen again (all gangly, pimply, with puffy early-90s bangs and pink glasses.  Ah, the memories).

  • No, but introverts always make me feel like I'm talking waaaaay to much. I always feel like I need to just shut the eff up.

I had puffy bangs and pink glasses too. It was not a good look for me.

  • Nope. I'm not intimidated by anyone.
  • No, not in the least.

  • If I ever met Heidi Klum or some famous beautiful person--sure.  Not the average everyday pretty chick though.

  • only recently because I am heavier than I want to be. So its more insecurity with myself than jealousy of others.

  • No, not intimidated...jealous maybe that they have perfect hair and cute clothes.

  • Nope. My sister is a gorgeous size two and men are always drooling after her. Not to mention she had two doctorate degrees and is about to marry a doctor. Did i mention that they are both anesthesiologist? So they will be making close to 1 million dollars a year. So I can't let myself be intimidated. I love my little sister to pieces and Im super excited for her wedding and for her to have some babies. Hopefully she will get a few stretch marks though ;)

  • Yes.

I feel like I'm thrown back into middle school.

  • I tend to be kind of shy, so I find I'm more intimidated by loud, aggressive people.

  • I don't feel intimidated I am confident in how I look. No mother should ever feel intimidated of other women if your s/o and husbands still get turned on by you then who are they right??

  • I have really pretty friends and cousins.  If I got intimidated by them, I'd never leave the house.

I do get jealous though because of my own insecurities.  Nothing to do with the pretty person (lol).

  • No I am not at all.

  • I have my hot days and my ugly days. It's me who throws my confidence off though, not others.

I just had to say that both our Jordans were born in June and they are both dragons for Halloween! To top the cake my Jordan's middle name is Jackson (my maiden name)!!!! Really random.

  • It's not their looks but their confidence that intimidates me more.  Even on my best looking days, I will instantly pick out my flaws.

  • I wonder if pretty princess coworker girl is just as insecure as I am?

Yes, I must admit that I was much less intimidated before I got pregnant and was in shape. Self-esteem issues . . . . I haz them.

Everyone has insecurities. You just have to be happy being you, tell yourself you look damn good and go on with your day.

  • I'm generally inspired by them--they make me want to up my game.
  • I am in general intimidated by people who are taller/smarter/wittier/prettier/thinner than I am. That just makes a ball of insecurities, right?

But I think it's healthy intimidation: it doesn't affect my life or personality, just gives me a brief moment of "I need to work on that..."

Um, yeah. The Bump be too crazy for pics of my kid.

There you go! Do a little booty shake when you get up in the morning to remind yourself.

And throw a post-it pad in your purse.  I adore this, and actually recently found one!

  • I'd be lying if i said no. but it's pretty rarely. but i feel the same way about really really successful or intelligent people (like pp said). I have an appropriate level of self esteem but am always out to better myself. sometimes I actually feel a little bad for the ppl who put so much time and effort into their looks and put nothing into other parts of their lives. And please don't take that as an overgeneralization about pretty people, i'm just using an example of some gorgeous people i know. Now I really feel intimidated if they are gorgeous and insanely intelligent.  The whole package is much more intimidating to me than just bits and pieces.

  • These "really pretty people" are probably not as confident as they always show. No one thinks they are perfect, but sometimes going to the beach I get kinda insecure because after a year I've been to lazy to work off my baby gut. But this is going to sound weird, when someone intimidates me I picture them pooping, no one looks good pooping. Creepy.
  • Nope, I am confident with my looks and feel like I am a pretty person so other good looking people do not intimidate me.
