Anyone have any good recommendation for a diaper pail or an alternative? After reading all the reviews on Amazon seems like for the most part a lot of people have bad things to say about all of them.

We plan on using diaper sacks and tossing them in the garbage. I had a friend stay with me for a week over the summer and I never once smelled diapers because the trash was taken out every/every other day.
Yea, I wouldn't waste my money on it. I mean I have one but I got it as a present (not registered for it either). I don't have too many expectations for it except as a container.
I love my Diaper Genie II! Of course it will stink if you leave diapers in there until it is busting full but if you change it a couple times a week there is no smell at all except when you open it to change it. Way better than a regular garbage can!
We have a diaper genie 2 elite and have had no problems with it.. now that ds is getting older it does stink when we empty it but other than that it does not smell.

We have the DG II E, and it's great. We use it upstairs in the nursery. Downstairs, we just throw the diapers in the trash, but that gets taken out more often than the genie upstairs.
I like it a lot, it's convenient, and works well for us.

The diaper champ was fine for us. Of course it stinks. You're loading it up with poo and pee. But as long as you change the bag on a regular basis, it's fine. We really only used it for the first few months when he was pooping and peeing so frequently. After that, we just went with a plain old trash can and emptied it everyday.

for cloth diapers, we just got a regular wicker hamper with a lid from pier 1 and use an antibacterial cloth diaper liner in it instead of the one it came with.
if we were using disposables, i would do the same thing but with a disposable garbage bag instead.
i guess it also depends on the age of the child and whether s/he is breast- or formula-fed or eating solids. in that case, something other than wicker or a diaper pail might be necessary.

Several of my friends love the Diaper Champ because you can use regular kitchen bags and don't have to buy special refills..it also seems to hold odor well. That's what we registered for
Re: Diaper Pails...are they all bad?

This would be great for my dogs too. Doggie bags are so expensive and biodegradable ones are way too much.
I think im going to add these to my registry.
