How much $$ on 1st Birthday?

I know there are tons of Birthday Party Questions so thanks for answering. There totally needs to be a party board (bump Gods!!)

On average how much are you spending on your LO's birthday party? location, food, decor, cake, etc. Please chime in especially if you are having a rather large party 40+ people. I have no clue what is even reasonable. I asked DH how much we could spend and he just looked at me like I dunno what is a party supposed to cost?

    DH and I actually just has an argument about this about an hour ago! I am from the east coast and Birthdays are huge! DH is from a small town and big family in Wyoming and im getting the idea that birthdays werent so big in their family. I had mentioned on 1stwishes.com I did find a mickey mouse club house pack but it was $200.00 and came with WAY more then what we would need for her 1st birthday, which will only be a few family members. He said $200 is absolutely nuts for any age birthday, and i just rolled my eyes! I hope he gets over the bill for DD's birthday coming up in Dec. cause I guarantee it will be at least that!

    it was $225 just to rent the place. but we get $100 deposit back afterwards. (keep in mind we have like 20-30 people coming). so overall, with food, decorations, cake and the whole 225, it's close to $400 atleast.

    I will say that I love extravagant birthdays and I only had one birthday party my whole life, so I plan on going overboard every year, but especially on the first one.  Having said that, we will have about 30 people at our home and I am anticipating a budget of $600-$700.  We don't really have any friends with kids so we don't have anything like a bouncy house planned but we will provide food, alcohol and decorations.  I'm so excited!!

    $150 for everything, gifts, decorations, food, everything.  But I am doing DIY party decorations with no "theme" just specific colors.  We will have about 25 to 30 people hopefully.

    We are having it at our house and I am making the cake but I am buying birthday banner, onesie, signature plate for everyone to sign, and hat from etsy = $150.

     She will only be one once.
