Your LO and food

Do they usually let you know when they are done eating?  Luke will shake his head and say "NO" (loudly too!) but only sometimes.  Just wondering what other LOs do.

Re: Your LO and food

  • Princess B shakes her head no, tries to hit the spoon, and throws her bowl.  She's pretty clear on expressing when she's done LOL.

  • DD usually pushes away her plate/bowl, sometimes she throws it on the floor, and always says all done!

  • My daughter will push the plate away from her or just turn her head if I try to feed her.
  • Katie will lock her jaw shut and shake her head no.  She will also start feeding the dogs and then will  lean over the side of her chair likes she's trying to bail out.
  • But do your LOs do this for every meal?  I'm wondering why Luke only does it every so often.
  • Keyser will throw his food off his high chair and "feed" the dogs when he is done.  I ask his "All done?" and he tries to push the high chair tray off.  He is also pretty expressive when it comes to being done :)

  • If she decides she's done before the jar is empty then she does it.  If the jar is empty and she's not done yet but I say "all gone!" then she cries for more.  If I actually get the amount right then she finishes whatever I'm giving her and when I say "all gone!" she is all smiley.

It all depends on a) how hungry she is and b) if I've judged the food amount correctly.

  • She shakes her head and tightens up her little lips. It's hilarious.
  • DD will push her food all around the tray, bang the tray, and drop food to the floor. she's very expressive when she does it.

  • DD shakes her head and shuts her mouth. Now she signs "more" and "all done", so it's easier to know whether she's still hungry or not.
  • Mason will just start tossing peices of food onto the floor.or try to escape out of the chair...a simple "done" will do but nope.
  • His sign is picking up his plate and trying to flip it over.  I usually take it away from him before he makes a HUGE mess!  Then I ask him, "are you finished?  All done?"  And he'll just look at me with a blank stare.  The other day I think he said, "yeah".  Who knows!?

  • DD says "all done!" and then hands me her plate and then the spoon/fork.  if she got anything on the highchair tray she will pick it up and hand it to me.  She will even wipe the tray if you give her a towel.  She will shake her head and close her mouth sometimes but not everytime.
  • Sometimes says signs "all done" but usually its her showing a disinterest, playing more than eating and often throwing stuff on the floor!

  • Hunter covers his face with his hands when he's had enough or shakes his head at the food.
