  We're not taking DS out to trick or treat (still too young... I think we'd both feel goofy walking up to strangers' houses w/a 4 month old!), but we are dressing him up and taking him to the ILs' house to pass out candy.  As far as where to go, if you live in a neighborhood, I would just trick or treat around there - we're also in Gettysburg and that's what we would do if we were taking DS out.  I'm not so sure you need to necessarily worry too much about safety in a place like Gettysburg (but then, I just moved back home after spending a year living in the middle of Baltimore city... so my view may be a bit tainted by that ).  Everyone will be out, kids and adults alike, so I really feel like you'll be fine no matter where you go.

  I'm in Gettysburg too! woo hoo! We should all meet up haha  Gettysburg's trick or treat is Sunday night from 6-8 .  The fire department sets up throughout town with the firetrucks, fire police, etc for lighting, traffic control and whatnot.  The Hanover Borough always has their's on Tuesday night and the Hanover mall is always on Wednesday night.  I know this is a little late, but you'll know for next year.

  One more thing, if you ladies are on Facebook and are looking to join a mommies group...come join the South Central PA Mommies Network.  I'm one of the admins and we're organizing a fundraiser at the Littlestown Y on 11/6 and we're gonna do playgroups and a bunch more events in the future.
