Parenting after a Loss

Taking Addy to Child Psychologist

This is what I think Pedi is going to recommend.  Little Adelyn is still ripping out her hair....when she is mad, tired, happy, or whatever.  She now is so thin on the top front of her head that it is like I cut it all into bangs.  Pedi said to call in a week and let him know if she out grew it....well it has not gotten worse or better....so I think we will be taking our 14 month old to see someone for her behavior and how to help her.  Sigh.  I just hope we can do something to stop this.  At least she is not a head banger....that would just be awful too.

  • I'm sorry.  Hopefully it will be something that can easily be fixed and she will be back to herself.

  • I am so sorry you are going through this! I hope the psychologist can give you answers if that is what you have to do. Addy is so beautiful, it breaks my heart.

  • I'm sorry... that must be so upsetting.  I hope they can help her asap, that just breaks my heart.
  • A girlhood friend of mine dealt with this - for her, it was a condition called Trichotillomania (had to google this for spelling!) and it was related to OCD.  She was able to control it with behavioral therapy and biofeedback.  If your daughter does have this, you can learn more about it here: https://www.trich.org/index.html

    Good luck with Addy!!
