so ealy u/s and sex of baby

in 2nd Trimester
So I see some others that had early u/s and got a guess on the sex of their baby. We had an u/s at 14 weeks and the tech said 100% sure it is a boy. When the dr. came in she said I've never seen such a clear shot this early it is all boy. So how much would you trust this guess? I'm not counting on it changing between now and my next u/s. This would be boy #3 for us. Just curious what you all think.

    Personally, I would not trust it at all.

    In fact, I don't even want my u/s tech's "guessing" until I'm at least 18w.

    I had a friend have a tech guess BOY at 14 weeks. Yeah she def had a girl.

    i would not trust it at all. i've seen so many posts of people who were told 12-14 weeks and get told differently at 20!

    i would be excited but guarded. i wouldn't put all my eggs in one basket over that and just be aware that it could change at your next scan. i wouldn't run out and do a complete outfit on a nursery until you know for sure at the 20 week scan either.

    we're definitely not going out and buying things b/c we already have 2 boys so if it is in fact a boy there is no need to buy anything.

    We had the tech guess girl with DD at 12 weeks and of course I waited until the 20 weeks u/s to buy anything but it was exciting to see if the lady was right.  This time when I went in early the tech couldn't get a good view of anything with the way the baby was facing and I was a little bummed, I would have liked to have a prediction just for fun but we will have to just wait and see!

    I don't think I would bank on it necessarily...however... I have read that there is a 85% chance that if your first twwo chilren are the same sex, then your third will also be the same sex.  Just thought you would be interested in that statistic.  But I am not positive where I read it, it was a couple of years ago.
