S/O not vaccinating...

While at the hospital last night we were asked by THREE different hospital employees whether we were vaccinating our child. Really? If I had to be asked on three seperate occasions in a very short 2 hours, that means there are enough idiot parents out there not doing it to ask that often. It made me really angry. I understand asking if DS is up to date on his shots... I'm ok with alternative schedules. Call it an early FFFC if you want, but not vaccinating your child at all is just plain stupid!

    ITA. I think one of the big problems is that we are so removed from the illnesses now. If we had grown up seeing polio and what it did to children and families, we'd be falling over ourselves to get the vac. Things like that have been gone so long that there's this false sense of secuity, and people start getting hang-ups on stupid things.

    Yeah, I took Isaiah in yesterday and a lady walks in and her friend is there too lecturing her on why she should vaccinate her baby... They full on were arguing and of course the hard headed women had made her decision and won't budge... Its sad...

    I wish someone would tell my cousin this! She keeps posting all this stupid things on facebook about how horrible vaccinating is, how SIDS and Shaken Baby Syndrom are really caused by vaccinations. Last week, she posted "Asking a doctor about vaccinations is like asking a butcher about vegetarianism." UGH! I want to scream at her!

    I love the arguement "I'm not giving the Polio vaccine. That last case in Polio was like, 1930!"

    Um...? Please wrap your tiny little brain around the reason WHY there hasn't been an outbreak of Polio in <insert exact number here, because I'm getting different years>

    Um, Shaken Baby Syndrome is caused by shaking a baby. How do vaccines apply to this?  I'm genuinely curious.  Please c & p here so we can see the stupid.

    Agreed.

    One of DH's Uncles is a Dr. and does "Dr's w/o Boarders" and after hearing his stories... I have nightmares about not vaccinating. I CRINGE when I hear parents go on and on about the government being out to get them, thimersol killing kids, blah blah blah. Enough already!?

    Here is one of the crazy things that my cousin posted on facebook. I was more offended by what she said and not the article. Still trying to locate the one about Shaken Baby Syndrom.

    So thrilled that Adam and I are part of the growing number of parents who chose to educate themselves and not let peer-pressure influence the health of their children! Excellent article, doctors are FINALLY waking up!

    you are one of like 2 people that I know who actually believe this stuff as fact. It sickens me that these poor babies have no voice, I PERSONALLY had a reaction to my baby vaccines at 7mo and my mom could not find a doctor to explain what was happening! how do people think its COINCIDENCE that their child dies 3 weeks after getting them?
     
    (Reply from the friend)  I know a hand full of mom's who have informed themselves. Yes, it is so heartbreaking that these babies have no voices....and they're dying of SIDS (caused by vaccinations) or suffering with autism (also caused by vaccinations)...You know ...they also have shown that "shaken baby syndrome" (signs of it) can also be the result of being vaccinated????!!! Can you imagine being THAT mother, losing your baby and being accused of shaking your baby to death?! :(

    Don't be discouraged ever. You're doing the right thing and protecting your bebe....I know people think I'm nuts about alot of my views on health issues...but, it's my JOB to protect my kids...God gave them to me to take care of them, not poison them because it's what everyone else is doing. If more people just took the time to BE INFORMED, we'd live in a much healthier world. It's overwhelming at times. I read way too much.

    You will like the Wellness page..they're constantly posting studies and whatnot showing strong evidence against vaccinations
     
     
    Okay, that is just PART of the crazy post. I can post more if you would like to see the insanity. :) Ugh! I vaccinate and am afraid for her daughter's health!
