It drives me completely bonkers when someone has a baby girl and EVERYTHING is pink! I hosted a baby shower for my little sister over the weekend and it looked like a pepto bismol party. There are thousands of other colors to choose from.
What really bugs me is that people think that if you don't want pink, then you want neutral colors like yellow and green. Whenever people would ask me what types of clothes I wanted for my daughter, I'd say that anything that wasn't pink was fine. So, I got a ton of yellow and green "neutral" outfits, that to me really looked like little boy clothes. Ugh! People, there are other colors like purple, red, light blue, dark green, etc. out there in cute girl clothes! I managed to find a lot of them and I didn't even have to look hard!!
I was like this when Emmie was first born but as I started to buy her clothes & stuff I noticed how good she looked in colors! Especially blues & green! So now I hardly ever buy her pink!
I used to think that way until I had 2 boys and my house is covered in blue and sports.
I'd kill for some of that pink.
I do buy her some pink things these days, but only if the outfit is really cute or if my choices (as in toys) are limited. Before she was born I was completely against pink, because I am not a "pink" type of girl.
Yeah, that can be annoying. I feel the same way about boys in blue and sports themed items. I purchased a lot of yellow and green for him as a newborn because the blue was too much for me.

It's not an unpopular opinion with me. I hate pink. I don't want my daughter learning gender stereotypes from birth. She has lots of blue, purple, red, and black to wear, in addition to pink, yellow and green.
(Although not a lot of brown ... i just don't think that brown is her color. She has Mediterranean skin, and brown hair, and brown clothes just drown her out.)

I don't mind pink but I understand your point. Who chose the decorations?
I used to rent a house that had a pink bathroom. The cabinet and ceiling were pink too. It looked like a pepto bottle barfed in there.

We didn't have any decorations. All the pink came from all her gifts!
We were given tons of blue too. People just assume.
I try to dress Kaitlyn in blue because it pops her eyes.
This. If this baby would have been a girl, everything probably would have been pink/purple.
