I am naming my daughter Quinn. It is one of those names that can be used for either... I actually got the idea from the cartoon Daria, whose sister's name was Quinn. The character was vapid, but I loved the name... Since then I found out several people know Quinns, both boys and girls.?
Also, I've gotten nothing but compliments on it, so it seems to get a good response.?
I'm so excited, I don't know if you remember from my old posts, but I was PRAYING for another boy!
We actually found out at 14 weeks, then had it confirmed at 18 weeks. Dave just finished painting the new nursery blue and we got adorable dwellstudio for target zoo bedding (blue tones). Need to order the crib and maybe get another glider b.c DS still loves his.

I totally remembered that you wanted another boy!!! Congrats!!!!! I may have already known you were having a boy now that I think about it...I swear I forget everything these days!!! Yipppeee on the nursery!!! We have had too much fun painting ours and buying everything to go with it!!! I love all the boy stuff!
We're naming our son Quinn. In terms of popularity it's not very popular for either (on ranking sites) but is ranked higher for boys. I think there are tons of names that can go either way so it's up to you.
Quinn reminds me of Daria, but I knew a baby named Quinn and his nickname was 'Q'. I think it can go either way. If it makes you feel any better it's not a common name in my area.
Maybe it's a regional thing but in my area Quinn is definitely used more frequently for girls. I am an elementary school teacher and there are several girl Quinns at my school and no boy Quinns. If our #2 is a girl we are considering Quinn. Every Quinn I've met has been sweet and adorable! Good luck!
Yes, it is definitely a girl's name in our area. I've seen at least 10 girls named Quinn in the birth announcements recently. It sounds like a girls name to me because of the -inn sound at the end (like Brynn or Gwen).
My neice is 8 and named Quinn and she is not the only girl I know with this name.. So its not like its a new thing.. I think it's still TRULY one of those names that can be used for boy or girl...Although I do tend to think of it as a girl name as it is my neices name.

I've never met anyone in real life with this name. But I have heard it on tv. Not that its worth much, but one of the housewives on "REal Housewives of Orange County" is named Quinn.
Re: Is Quinn becoming a girl's name?
I know a 1 yr old boy named Quinn. I also know a 30-something lady named Quin...and she's a biotch.
I think "boy" when I hear it.
Quinn was Daria's sister's name (Daria, the MTV cartoon from 10 years ago...)
