Tip for furniture delivery

I'm getting a shelf delivered for LO's room today. It is not assembled, and they won't bring it to his room. They will leave it just inside the front door. Should I tip for this, and if so, how much?

    IMO no.  It sounds like they are just dropping it off at your house - the same as UPS or Fed-ex.  I don't tip UPS or Fed-EX.

    I would only tip them if you convince them to take it up the babies room.

    Although they say they won't do it, once the delivery people get there, they may be room for negotiation.

    If you ask the delivery guy nicely, I'm sure he'll be willing to help you out.  Our FedEx and UPS guys always offer help to me if I come out to get the box before he leaves.  Just look your most miserable pregnant self and maybe he'll feel bad!  ;o)
