Stocking stuffer ideas for 8 yr old boy

My brother's step-son will be spending Christmas with us this year and I want to put a stocking together for him but am at a loss as to what to get an 8 year old boy.. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

    DD is almost 8 and she's getting an orange, a few candies, and a bunch of art supplies and a webkinz. ?

    That would work for some boys. ?Others might like small lego sets, Magic Treehouse books, and those handheld video games. ?

    I dont have any kids or nephews that age so I am not sure if that stuff is too old or to young....

    Can you find out if he's into anything like Pokemon cards (or whatever the new version of that craze might be)?

    Candy is always a winner...

    Maybe a Toys R Us gift card?  Kids love to be able to pick out their own stuff at that age.

    A DVD that's coming out around Christmas?

    My 8 year old boy is into webkinz and football cards.  Also cars, but that has been an obsession since he was a baby.  Other ideas are board games, (risk, monopoly, sorry etc) legos, puzzles, notebooks and pens.  Just a few ideas for you off the top of my head.
