Pulled stomach muscle?

Just wondering if anyone else has had this, if it is just in my head, or if I should be concerned. I have this feeling that feels like a pulled muscle across my stomach.  Just started today.  I don't feel it all the time.  Any ideas?

I worry because I work in a nursing home and I'm constantly lifting and pulling and pushing people.  I know I was instructed to not do these things for over 25 lbs but it is so hard to remember.

  • Just asked about this last week. From what I was told, it is Round Ligament Pain. It is just your body making room for baby.

  • There are ligaments, called round ligaments, that anchor the uterus to tissue lining the pubic bone. The ligaments contain muscle fibers. When the uterus grows rapidly, or even if you torque your pelvis quickly, you can cause those muscle fibers to spasm. It's not really a big deal at this point, as far as anything to worry about, but it becomes more intense with a bigger uterus. It's never really anything to worry about, even if the pain is intense. There are some soft tissue release techniques you can do at that point to reduce the pain.
  • It's either RLP if it comes and goes, or I don't know what causes it but my whole abdomen has been really sore like I had a really hard workout for the last 5 or 6 weeks - could be that.

  • I have the same thing, to me it feels like menstrual cramps that last for a couple hours then go away. They come and go throughout the day though. I'm glad to know it's just my body making room for baby!

  • Thanks.   I knew I saw something on this the other week, but then I couldn't find it.  Thank you all for your information.  It makes me feel better.  There are just so many questions I have!
