hahaha....work related

OK so I'm in insurance. This gys calls me to add a new car, He has a very thick accent. So he is reading me the vin number to the new car and for all the letters he uses latin names, that I cant understand.

E like enrique

a like angel

m like manuel

seriously??  Poor guy. God bless him for trying to help me,but when you say those names with your heavy accent it doesn't really help me at all!!!

  • I have gotten to the point with my insureds that I just tell them to fax or email me the title.

  • LOL I totally understand...I'm in insurance (but on the claims side) and I rotuinely deal with people who we do not insure, and sometimes deciphering their names is almost impossible.

  • Oh my gosh, I had a similar experience back when I worked for Lucent. We would had a lot of people that came over from India that worked on the East Coast. They would call in and have to spell their names for us and their accents were so thick it would sound something like this, 'A like Umbrella, S like Bear, H like window...... It was SO difficult to understand. :D

I remember those days I am so glad I have switched over to strictly commercial insurance.

argh! I cant stand commercial. But my former coworker made the switch and said it's amazing. he never deals with customers anymore and some days...that sounds glorious!!!

  • I loved working commercial...since you were dealing with businesspeople, they were more professional and easier to deal with.  The only downside is that they can be demanding sometimes too.  I'm back in personal lines and it's alright....I hear more hilarious stories of stupid things that people do, so I guess it is worth it!
