Re: Is anyone really getting solid, glorious uninterrupted sleep?

  • I am! Well, most nights anyway. DD didn't start doing this until right around your LOs age though. Prior to thi tha we were up multiple times a night and even feeding at 2 or 3 am. Pedi said to make sure to out het down for the night while ahe was still awake. We states ti do it every night instead of sometimes and it seemed to work. The other thing tha happened right before that waa DD learned how to put her soothie in her mouth by herself. Now if she wakes up at night she usually puts herself back to sleep. It is glorious. Don't lose hope. You'll get there. And i have to add that I heart your siggy pic. What a handsome little dude!

  • DS fusses at 5 am as well. Sometimes it wakes me; sometimes it doesn't. I just leave him and he puts himself back to sleep. I don't mind getting up at 5:30 though and getting things done while he sleeps. I'm usually so tired in the evenings that I go to bed early anyway.

  • Hey Jen! Cute siggy picture! What happens if you don't rush into his room? Will he fuss for a few moments and then go back to sleep on his own? DS went through a few weeks/months where he'd wake up and fuss once or twice per night but he never fussed longer than 1-2 minutes and then he was back to sleep. He now sleeps through the night and I do get solid, glorious uninterrupted sleep. It's wonderful, I won't lie.

  • Last night, I went to sleep at 10 and didn't wake up till 6:30.

My secret?  GRAMMY.  DS spent the night at my parents' house.  She was up most of the night....  :)

  • We did sleep training with DS at 4 months and by 5 months he was sleeping 10-12 consecutive hours each night.  He's still going strong on that one.  So yes, we are getting uninterrupted sleep and thank God for that because I don't think I could work full time, carry this child in my ute and get up at night with DS.

  • I am! Thank goodness. :) They will eventually sleep. I think part fo what helped us is we never gave Sara a paci so she learned to self soothe early on. She jsut lays quietly sucking her thumb and rubbing her nose watching the noise machine projector. For us the noise machine was a great thing :) Hope he does it soon for you!!
  • We are I would say 6 out of the 7 nights. Now that he is in his own bed i am not waking up everytime he tosses and turns. Just last night he slept for 11 hrs.

What I found with the binky is that when he goes to sleep with it in is mout he wakes up crying and looking for it. He does not really need it so when he spits it out i go in and take it out of reach so he does not find it with is hand. After we started doing that he would sleep through that 2 or 5am wake up.

    Hope it gets better soon.

  • Hannah sleeps through the night and has since about 7 weeks..  She never wakes up or fusses at night.  I dont really have any secrets really.  She nurses at night until 8:30 pm then my DH gives her a bottle and then he lays her down in bed and she goes right to sleep.  She really is the easiest baby ever!..

She doesnt take a bink though..  So there is no issue of her losing it during the night..
