Our profile form asks us about comfort level with certain drug and alcohol exposure. Do you have any resources whree I could find information of the effects of certain drugs, or alcohol, on fetal development?
The best advice I got as far as exposure goes is to find a pediatrician that you're comfortable with (a great plus once the baby comes, anyway!), and call or schedule a visit with him/her to discuss the exact situation or to discuss different substances, in general. We did that a few times with different situations, and it was great to be able to ask direct questions and get direct answers rather than just surfing online and finding a million different responses.
(LOVE this FAQ, by the way!
"Our children are not ours because they share our genes...
they are ours because we have had the audacity to envision them.
That, at the end of the day...or long sleepless night,
is how love really works."
