    I know The Onion is not real, but I do have this to add.

    My family was Jehovah's Witness for a short time while I was growing up. They DO believe that becoming an angel is the highest honor and that overall, there will only be 144,000 angels total once the world ends. Those who died and did not make it to angeldom are dead, but will be resurrected to live on Heaven-on-Earth with their families. Most JW's would prefer to NOT become an angel because they will likely never live with their families again.

     

    Not saying this is what I believe, just saying that this is a belief that exists.

    This.  I think it's based out of Madison, WI - some of it is really funny, although I don't know when an article about dead children is ever funny.
