I had a LEEP done about a year ago, and one of my doc's biggest concerns is how my cervix will hold up. I am just curious to hear others' experiences. TIA!

I had a LEEP in 2006 and got pregnant 3.5 years later in 2009. My cervix did shorten, and I was on bed rest for 12 weeks. My OB said it isn't related... but I was definitely concerned about cervical problems going in, and am glad I was, because I was able to find my cervix shortening before it was too late.

Thanks for your input! This might be a dumb question, but could you tell your cervix was shortening? Did you feel pain or pressure or anything? My doctor will be monitoring me frequently, but I am still a bit paranoid.

I did about 10 years ago. I've had no problems whatsoever. My cervix has been totally closed until last week. Now I'm 1cm dialated, which is completely normal for 35 weeks. No bedrest either!
Congratulations to my girl AmberZ! So happy for you!
Our twins were conceived a week or so (I didnt totally wait as long as I should have) after having the cone biopsy. My ob/gyn has never mentioned this as a problem. I have abnormal paps every year for the past 4 years and have to go in for the vinegar test and biopsy so I have done it a few times now. My cervix is still high and tight. I hope this helps!
I had the LEEP procedure in 2008. It was a concern for me as I was worried my cervix wouldn't hold up, but it did. My cervix was never an issue throughout the pregnancy. I made it to 36w 3d.

Thank you ladies! This has really helped put my mind at ease. My doctor made it seem like cervix issues were almost inevitable, which freaked me out. Glad to see that's not the case!

Sorry I didn't see your question earlier-- but no, I didn't feel any change in my cervix, I just requested an extra check around 21 weeks when I felt really worried one day and had a few braxton-hicks contractions. I hope your experience is like the other girls on here and not mine! My OB definitely made it sound like LEEPs don't affect your cervix, so it is possible that my cervical problems are just my having a lousy cervix!
