Use the wipes and stay as clean and dry as possible. Also, do not strain when you're pooping. If you are straining, stop and just sit there and let it come out on its own...it will eventually.
Tucks in the fridge, colace! 3 times a day, everyday, Prep H with cortizone. If it doesn't have cortizone, it will not help. Wet wipes, no more try toilet paper on your bum. If they get really bad, take a hot bath. As hot as you can handle. All you need is enough water in there to come up to the roid, about 3-4 inches (if you are concerned about baths). the hotter the better. it will relax the muscles down there and help relieve the pressure and swelling. You can get a sitz bath at any pharmacy too, which work like the bath, but is a seat that just goes on top of the toilet. it does not use the toilet water. LOL
If you are in excruciating pain, call your OB or MW and have a Rx coritone cream called in. the OTC stuff has 1%, the Rx stuff will have 2.5%. Also, if you really can't function, go to the ER. They can help. It's not pretty, but sometimes, you have to do it.
it happens to a lot of people, so do not be embarassed. Page me or PM me if you have any questions. I know all too well about those fvckers from my last pregnancy.

Thank you. I have no prep H in the house but I do have cortizone cream. Can I use that in the meantime?

Hmmm, I don't know. Check the box or the insert if you still have it. It might say not to put on that area. I would just double check before you do it, but if its that bad, I'm sure it would be OK for one application.
Also, I usually apply it with a 2x2 inch gauze pad, but you can use the Tucks to do it too. Roids make it difficult to get that area 100% clean, if you get my drift. I personally feel like that is more sanitary, but I am not so great with that stuff.

I would think it would be ok because it can be used on your lady parts
My sympathy...no joke! Try sitz baths? Heard it may help?
I had hemmoroids after delivery of DD#1 - they are not fun at all! I sat in really hot baths w/ epsom salts. It seemed to help a little. I actually sat on the boppy pillow more than I used it for feeding L...!! They are painful and I wish you the best of luck getting rid of them. Witch hazel pads helped a little, I was on a prescription of colace too - to make going to the bathroom easier.
GL to you!!

I've read that keeping your feet up for a while a couple of times throughout the day and doing kegels eases the blood pooling.... so sorry to hear that

I can't stand going without undies, but I def don't wear thongs anymore!
After I delivered DD, the hospital gave me a little round 'floatie ring' similar to what little kids use in a pool. I sat on it for 3 weeks because of the pain... partially from hemmies and partially from my tear. It will help you now too!

You poor thing - I concur on this one for cleaning the affected area(s). Then use a baby wash cloth for further cleansing that area. Pat the area dry using a baby's towel they are must softer than the adult towels. Also I agree with others who say leave the under wear off. If at all possible do not put any clothes on that area what so ever while at home - allow to further air dry if at all possible. GL - I feel for you on this one too.

Re: Embarrassing But It Happened
try putting the wipes in the fridge?
Sounds like it would feel good to me.
The ecofriendly board would probably have lots of home remedy suggestions.

You've clearly never had a roid.
