Pregnant after a Loss

the girl who cried labor

UGH I knew it would happen. After 4 hours of painful contractions last night that never grew closer together, they finally fizzled out and nothing since. I am so dissapointed, and can only hope that all of that pain at least dilated me a little bit more.

I am so discouraged and feel like this baby is never going to come out. Bah..maybe next time. I honestly don't know a single person IRL who went past their due date so this sucks hardcore.

I am so physically done with this pregnancy..I just can't handle it anymore.

Just thought I'd update for those who responded to my post about contractions last night!

  • Josie can't stay in there forever.  It may feel like forever, but she'll come out eventually.  Hang in there!
  • I will keep my fingers crossed that she makes her debut soon.

  • Oh sweetie, I know it's hard! But it's great that you are framing it in a positive light - those contractions DID help you to dilate further and bring your baby one step closer to the outside world. Your body got some good practice and that is work that you don't have to do when you actually get to the big event, so you shaved some time off for yourself.

Hang in there! It will happen soon!

  • :-( ?Hopefully the real thing will be soon!

  • I know it is hard and gets stressful. (((hugs)))

  • Sorry you are frustrated.  I went 3 days past my due date which isn't much but it feels like forever when you are ready to meet your baby.  I also had several days of contractions that never amounted to anything before the real thing happened.  Like you said hopefully it is helping you dilate.  When I did finally go into labor from the time I got to the hospital to the time I had my daughter in my arms was only 6.5 hours.  Sending you lots of labor dust!

  • I went 6 days past my due date and it was hard -- very very hard -- but she was so worth the wait in the end. I also had contractions that led nowhere. But when the real deal started I KNEW!! Try to hang in there.

Plan some fun dates with your DH, get a pedicure and stop answering your phone when people start bugging you. Sending loads of labor dust your way!

  • soon! if not you can always induce.
  • You will be holding her before you know it. Good luck ::labor dust::

  • You're so close!  You'll be holding your baby in no time!
  • I had this happen 2 times to me prior to going into labor.  I had my baby within 1 week of the first occurance.  Your baby will be here very soon!
