Tricks for getting bottle-fed baby to sleep through the night?

Help! My 12-week-old had been sleeping through the night since about six weeks. Well, since last week, he's been wanting to fall asleep early and then gets up between 2 and 4 a.m., wanting to eat and then play.

How can I get him back on his regular, old, blissfully peaceful schedule? :( Any tips would be appreciated. Is this normal??

  • Honestly, you may as well get used to him changing his schedule every so often. How early is he falling asleep? Also, keep in mind it is very normal for him to want to get up a few times a night. My DS is 8 months and just a few weeks ago he kicked his 4am feeding...good luck!

  • I don't FF but it might be a growth spurt and he might just be hungry.. There are no tricks for STTN.
  • A few things that worked for my first son...

I would try to get him back to sleep with out feeding him. Sometimes I wouldn't even pick him up, just rub his back while he was still in the crib.

If he absolutely had to eat I wouldn't turn the lights on and try to avoid stimulating him so he would go back to sleep after.

I've also heard of people giving watered down formula or just water, eventually they think its not worth waking up for...but I never tried that myself.

    Hope that helps! GL!
