So my husband decided to find out last minute (like 10 mins before our u/s) and then I told MIL today that we're having a girl and her loving response was,
"Oh, a girl? Really? Are you sure?"
Me: "Well they triple checked so yes, we're absolutely sure"
MIL: "Hummmm, that's odd."
Me: "Oh yea? Why's that?"
MIL: "Well, its just that your............ummmmm..........you know...........your backside is just.............ummmmm.........much smaller this time than it was with Rhayna. So I'm not sure they got the ultrasound right"
Re: FUNNY: What MIL said when we told her the baby is a girl...
Is that a backhanded compliment? Do you have that kind of relationship with her?
She's 72 and finds it appropriate to critique everything about everyone in a Betty Crocker Super Sweet masked way....
WHAT?!? You found out?!? HOW did I miss this?!?
CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Um, MIL....wow!
Other than the last line about the u/s, since she'd have no clue about that, comparing my backside is totally something my Mom would do.
I'm carrying totally different this time, and the HB is slower, such that at my last u/s I said, "And she's still a girl?" I got a brief lecture about how u/s techs don't listen to that stuff, and I said, "I hope you don't!" But the fact is that it was the OB nurse who would have sworn I was having a boy just two weeks earlier and I had to *promise* her we had already had 2 u/ss that showed she is a girl. I'm carrying so much lower, and what the nurse was commenting on was the fact that she has a slow-ish, strong, "athletic" heartbeat. But alas, I've had 3 u/ss showing girl, so I don't think she's growing a penis.
I hope you're all good with knowing and with the result! Again, congratulations!!!
