Tonight we are going to give DD veggies tonight for the first time, all she has had was cereal up till now.  How much do I give her?  Is it just 1 tablespoon....are should she eat the whole jar?  Wha did your DC do?

Re: stage 1 baby food

  • i think the very first time i gave DD something other than cereal, all she had was about 2 heaping baby spoonfuls of  the food.  to my thinking, she probably wouldnt eat more than that, and i also figured if she was allergic, she wouldnt have eaten that much.   then again, i also mixed my solid with cereal in the beginning too.  GL its fun!

  • We didn't start with cereal, we started with veggies so I'm not really sure.  How much cereal has she been eating?  Since she's already been getting cereal, I would think she'd eat more veggies.  But I wouldn't force her to if she decides she doesn't want more than a tablespoon or so.

  • A teaspoon is a good amount to start with.  You can always add more if your DD is still hungry.
